What is a frag?

Frag is just a shorter version of the word fragment. In this case a frag is a piece or “fragment” of a coral that’s been moved to a smaller location. Most coral can be “fragged” but that does come with exceptions.

Frags grow into larger, more robust coral over a period of time and this is what makes them a cheaper and easy option for beginners as well as seasoned hobbyists.

Being able to track the progress of a frag overtime can be exciting and also shows the level of care that your tank is receiving.
